What's in a name?
"What makes us human? Is it the fact that we see, we smell; we hear, we taste, we touch, or the fact that we have the capacity to live our lives?
The answer, my friend
Is that you aren't human, until you have a heart, and begin to feel. Not physically, but emotionally; spiritually, and not in any other sense of the word."

Hello there, I'm Debrah. Seventeen going on Eighteen, but I prefer to think of myself as a little child, waiting to see what the world has in store for me. I'm a true-blue Singaporean, but of slightly-mixed origin all the same. My grandfather is from Guangzhou, and I come from a fully functional, Cantonese-speaking family. I've changed my name thrice, but it's remained the same in general if you get what I mean. I'm nocturnal, and if left undisturbed, I'd very much like to sleep past one. I avoid sub-artic temperatures like the plague, and I hate spicy food, as well as gassy drinks. I don't smoke, and I don't-- Correction, have never had alcohol.
I was never much a fan of antiquity. I hate being left behind, giving rise to the fact that I am always changing, and always on the move-- but that doesn't mean I don't have the right to take an off-day when the need calls for it. I'm your girl next door, but that does not equate to me being a Plain Jane-- I am anything but plain. I derive pleasure from being messy and disorganised. Some days I feel like being girly and painting my entire room pink, perhaps perform a little ballet in the comfort of my room. Others I feel like being a rock star, dressing up like a drag queen and rocking to the beat of my favourite playlist like you'll never imagine.
I'm fun and bubbly most of the time, but like many others, I can be emotionally unsound, like a city build on sand. I love to cheer others up, but I will never show who I am on the inside to those I render unfamiliar. I wear a mask everywhere I go, so often to the point I've become somewhat foreign to the person whom I really am. I'm mostly comfortable in my own skin, and I've never seen a need to conform to society. I can count the number of girlfriends I have on one hand, but only because I hate female company, especially when the X-chromosome count exceeds two at a time. I. Like. Boys. Period. You can label me a flirt, but I beg to differ. I'm not desperate for attention, and I seek solace in the company I hang with. I live, I laugh, I trip and take chances. I fall in love easily, but I'll never leave the game without a fair fight.

Put simply, I love life. I love the things it has to offer, I love the opportunities that wait around every corner. I love watching the sun rise and set, I love feeling the rain on my skin. I love being able to feel, to touch, to smell, to taste. I love animals, peace, and nature. I enjoy walks on the beach, star-lit skies, and trips to nowhere. It doesn't matter, really, as long as I'm in good company. I like new things, they intrigue me.
♥

My interests include dabbling in astrology, photography, fashion, and occasionally, writing. I suffer from constant writer's block, though, so it would have to be an extraordinarily good day in order for me to compose any form of literature. I love reading; some of my favourite titles include Memoirs of a Geisha, Passing Under Heaven, and my most recent obsession, the Twilight series.

I love all the colours in this world. Of course, there are those I prefer more, such as red, electric blue, and hot pink. I'm a self-confessed blogaholic; I could blog seven times a day and still have more to say. No surprise then, that I have two blogs, and a diary to add. I enjoy bringing my DSLR with me everywhere I go, to capture this sights and sounds-- Because you only live once. I love to travel, though it's not very often, and one day I will travel the world as a professional photojournalist. Some key destinations I have in mind include Africa, Europe's countrysides, and Japan. Speaking of which, I have a weird obsession for everything of Japanese origin (unless you count food, Italian takes the cake!).

I'm a great supporter of worldwide conservation efforts, and I hate people who have no respect for our Earth. There exists a saying that goes, "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated." I believe that for a person to embark on a life of compassion and kindness, he must first learn to love the smallest of God's creations-- How else will he learn to respect those above or on equal level as himself?

Music is my drug. You'll never catch me going anywhere without my iPod. I listen to R&B, mostly, but it depends a lot on my mood for the day. I enjoy Westlife when the rain falls, and Sheryl Crow on cloudless afternoons.

I want to meet Mizushima Hiro. :-)
I'm an avid fan of love. I live, to love. It's that simple. Love is a word that changes us. It's just four simple letters, but it leaves impact. It brings out the better in us, the kinder side we never thought we had. I think, that love finds us. It's strange, but it's true. Yet it does not mean we can give up on it, and let fate lead us blindly. Happiness comes from hard work. So does true love-- It's like a challenge, a battle we fight all our lives until we find that one special person. How often is it that we come across an individual who makes us feel the way love feels? For two people to come together. Any two people at all; what are the chances of that? He could be from Spain, New York, Beijing or Barcelona. You don't choose it, and it won't matter. You will meet. And you will be mesmerized.
I have found the person who will pursue me, the one who will make an ordinary moment seem magical, the person who brings out the best in me and makes me want to be a better person. He is my best friend, the only person who will drop everything to be with me at any time no matter what the circumstances; the person who makes me smile like no one else and when he smiles I know he needs me. I have found the person who want will want to show me off to the world when I am in sweats and a t-shirt, but appreciates it when I dress up for him. And most of all, have found the person who puts me at the center of his universe, because that's where I belong.

His name is Zander. And he has my heart, for all my life.
I might have more to say another day, but above all, I love making new friends. But please don't add me if you're a sales journal, or if your journal's empty (unless I know you personally). I want someone who will be there for me, someone who is interested to know what's happening in my life. For now, toodles.
